ServSafe® Information

All restaurants in Connecticut are required to have a certified food protection manager on staff. The ServSafe Manager course will certify you as a Certified Food Protection Manager, formerly known as the QFO.

The ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification is recognized by the National Restaurant Association for a five-year period. ServSafe Alcohol, ServSafe Allergens and ServSafe Food Handler Certificates are recognized for a three-year period. However, state or employer requirements can vary.

To receive your certificate, you must score higher than 75% on the ServSafe Food Handler test, which is an untimed 40 question test. You must answer 30 or more questions correctly to receive your certificate.
